So, I have to say last night for me was pretty incredible. Being a fan of stand-up comedy, Alex, Joe and myself were able to see one of the biggest names ever, Jerry Seinfeld, as he performed a show at the Fox Theatre in St. Louis.

I wanted to make this a separate post, because this was so unbelievably awesome to me. It’s one of those things that I can look back on and say ‘yeah, I saw Jerry Seinfeld live. It was amazing.’ In my opinion, Seinfeld is the greatest TV show of all time. I really, honestly believe that nothing else even comes close in TV history. It ran for nine seasons, and continues to be re-run and re-run on about 1.6 million different networks every single day, and it’s still funny, every single time you see it, no matter how many times you’ve seen it.

It was an incredible show, put together by an incredibly funny comedian, and he didn’t disappoint in his set last night either. Using the same shtick he’s used for decades now, he delivered great, new material that was absolutely hysterical. My favorite part, though, was that he came back out after his set was over and took questions from the audience. Unfortunately, he had a bunch of A-holes just yelling random comments at him for like 15 minutes. As Alex said, they had Jerry Seinfeld willing to answer any question, and they just yell random nonsense. Unbelievable. One guy seriously yelled “Are you still Master of your Universe?” Really dude? If you’re going to yell stupid crap, at least yell it correctly…

He did get a couple of them back pretty good, though. Some people decided to just yell out names of characters, like ‘Newman.’ Seinfeld replied “Newman. That’s a noun-a person, place or thing. Get yourself a verb and you’ll be halfway to completing your thought,” which I found hilarious.

He also said, and I’ll go ahead and admit my bias here, that St. Louis was the first city to catch on to his show. He said they’d get the ratings every week, and from the first season, St. Louis always had the highest ratings. Now, I don’t know if this is something he says to every city, but as a St. Louisan, I choose to believe it to be correct.

Anyway, it was an amazing night of comedy that I’d been waiting to see for a long time. I can check ‘See Seinfeld Live’ off my bucket list now.

    More tomorrow.

That’s right, everyone. It’s here. Today is Super Bowl Sunday, and as Seth Meyers said on Saturday Night Live last night “The Arizona Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers get the opportunity to open for Springsteen.”

Let me say I love Super Bowl Sunday. Wendy and I will have a host of people watching the game with us, and we will have a variety of chips, dips and whatnot to go along with it. It’s certainly not a day where you can worry about losing weight. It’s an automatic loss. That’s OK, though, because it’s Sunday, and I’ll have a week to work it off before the next weigh-in.

Raise your hand if you’d have guessed the Arizona Cardinals would be in the Super Bowl this year? Put your hand down, dude, you’re a liar. No one did. The Cardinals are like the Cubs of the NFL, they just can’t get it done. But that’s the beauty of the NFL. With such a short season, turnarounds can happen over just one offseason. The Rams did it in 1999, the Cardinals have done it in 2009. There’s one connection between these two teams: Kurt Warner.

That’s right, Warner was a part of the Rams Super Bowl run 10 years ago, and now he’s lead his underdog Cardinals to the Super Bowl as well. Warner, who has struggled in those 10 years, is playing like his old self, and with weapons like wide receivers Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin, he has a real shot to take home another championship.

The Cardinals were atop a terrible division, the NFC West, at the end of the regular season. No one even gave them a chance. They weren’t supposed to beat the Atlanta Falcons in the Wild Card round. They won. They were supposed to get blown out by the Carolina Panthers in the division round. They blew out the Panthers. They were supposed to get beat by the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship game. They didn’t. They’re in the Super Bowl.

Of course, the defense they’re facing in the Pittsburgh Steelers is at the top of the league, and they’re going to bring the house at Warner all day long. In my opinion, if they’re going to win this game, they’ll need to run the football. A nice heavy dose of Edgerrin James and Tim Hightower will free up Fitzgerald and Boldin. If they become one-dimensional, the Steelers defense will have the edge, and they’ll have no chance.

I refuse to pick against the Cardinals anymore. They’re on fire right now. Much like the baseball Cardinals in 2006, these Cardinals are firing on all cylinders right when they need to the most. I think the underdogs have a real shot to pull this game out, and Warner can make a great final argument in his case for the Hall of Fame. If he wins this game, i don’t see how you can’t vote him in on the first ballot.

    Super Bowl XLIII
    Arizona Cardinals: 28
    Pittsburgh Steelers: 21

    More tomorrow.

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a photographer. Wendy and I spent the morning booking the photographer for our wedding, which is really coming together.

So, I figured since my goal is to meet my goal weight by my wedding, I should probably talk a little wedding as well.

Thus far, Wendy’s been her own personal J-Lo, and I’ve been more like McConaughey, obviously. We’ve booked our reception location and the church. The wedding party has taken shape, and now we have our photographer. This wedding is really starting to come together.

We went with a place in St. Charles called Natural Aspects, and they seem great. The package included more than we expected and was a lot cheaper as well. It’s and exciting time.

Now, we just need a D.J….

Ok, so I said yesterday we would talk about Heroes today…so let’s do that.

This is one of my favorite shows on TV right now. I’ll concede that last season didn’t live up to how excellent the first season was, BUT it was cut short due to the writers strike, so we only got about half of it.

I think this season started off great, and last night’s episode was better than the first one…I don’t want to do too much of a recap to avoid spoilers…but the first thing that stood out to me was that Tracy Strauss is way less annoying than Nikki Sanders, although I feel bad for Mikah…hardcore Peter Petrelli is awesome (regular Peter is good too, but it’s so much better when he’s actually using his powers to their potential)…Parkman is stuck somewhere with African Isaac Mendez and Claire wants to hunt down Sylar who is now teamed with her father trying to hunt down the villains that escaped level five.

We didn’t see any of The Fly, I mean Mohinder. I’m interested to see what’s going on with him…but not so interested to see what’s going on with Maya.

I loved it. I think they’re back at season one level. What did you think? Let me know in the comments?(<—Update: I’m Ron Burgundy? What’s with the question mark, dude?)

Also, I don’t know if anyone but the fiancee and I watch Chuck, but together with Heroes, it makes for one good Monday night of TV.

I’ll be back later with another progress report.
